NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb Track & Field wrapped up a strong two-day showing at the Vanderbilt Invitational, highlighted two school records, multiple podium finishes, and consistent performances across sprints, distance, relays, and field events inside the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.
The Bisons opened competition Friday with solid efforts in the field and on the track, carrying momentum into Saturday where Lipscomb produced several top-five finishes and a set of program records in both men's field and distance events.
Friday's action featured the throws and distance medleys, as Nate Hayes posted a mark of 12.64m in the Men's Weight Throw, while Lucy Litwin led the women's long jump group with a leap of 5.32m. On the track, Carly Miller clocked 18:56.95 in the Women's 5000m, and the Bisons competed three distance medley relay squads to open the meet.
Saturday delivered the meet's biggest highlights. In the field events, Justin Davis set a new Lipscomb school record in the Men's Triple Jump, placing fourth overall with a mark of 15.09m. On the track, Liza Corso earned a third-place finish in the Women's Mile with a time of 4:45.44, while Brady Yingst placed second in the Men's Mile at 4:02.73.
The distance races continued to shine late in the meet. Levi Streeval delivered a standout performance in the Men's 3000m, winning the event outright in 7:50.86 and breaking the Lipscomb school record by eight seconds. Teammates James Schmidt (fifth) and Joe Ponter also turned in strong efforts in the race.
In the hurdles, freshman KeShawn Allen advanced to the 60m Hurdles final, placing sixth overall in 8.17, while Lipscomb posted competitive marks across the sprint and relay events. The women's 4x400m relay closed the meet with a time of 3:59.20, while the men's relay squad ran 3:21.17.
