HOW IT HAPPENED
It took some time early in the contest to get the scoring going. Trailing 9-6 with 3:10 left in the opening quarter, McKayla Miller drained a triple to pull even at nine at the media break.

Late in the quarter, Elena Bertrand, with the shot clock dwindling down, converted a layup to give the Bisons the 11-10 lead after one quarter of play.

Lipscomb started the second quarter with back-to-back layups by Molly Heard, with one being where her steal led to a layup to lead 15-10 with 8:53 left in the period.

However, the Dolphins and Bisons would go back-and-forth with the lead. After a Miller 3-pointer to make it 22-21 at the 5:30 mark, JU went on a 10-1 run to lead 34-25 at the half.

Jacksonville began to pull away in the third quarter with a 15-2 run in a three-minute span to swell the lead to 52-30 at the media break.

Knocking down 9-of-12 from the field in the period, and led by Makiya Miller's eight points, the Dolphins took a 62-39 lead into the fourth quarter.

Down 23 going into the final period, the Bisons did not give up. Down 70-47, the Bisons used a 12-0 run late in the game to make it an 11-point affair. Hope Counts knocked down 4-of-6 for nine points, as the team scored 11 of their 20 points off of eight Jacksonville turnovers.

KEY STATISTICS
Hope Counts led the Bisons with a career-best 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting with seven rebounds and three blocks.
