CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb University Baseball team fell in a 12-8 decision to Austin Peay State University in the second game of a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series, Saturday afternoon from Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Austin Peay scored six times, inclduing a five-spot in the second inning, to get ahead 6-0.
Lipscomb had to play catch-up from there. In the third,
Aaron Stelogeannis laced a two-out double to lef center field to get the Bisons on the board.
In the bottom half. APSU got the run back with a Houston Hebert double to lead 7-1 through three innings.
In the fourth, the Bisons put together more two-out magic with a double down the left field line to make it a 7-3 score.
APSU responded again with a four-run bottom of the fourth to lead 11-3.
In the sixth, the Bisons began mounting another comeback thanks to the help of a fielding error to start the frame as
Hutson Miles reached. After a Miller single,
Kai Holm delivered an RBI double to make it an 11-4 score.
Keaton Mahan followed with an RBI groundout and a sac fly from Stelogeannis made it an 11-6 score as the Bisons posted a three-run frame.
While
Jevarra Martin Jr. tossed zeros on the mound, the Bisons added another run in the eighth after Mahan's knock through the right side saw Miller score and made it an 11-7 affair.
The Govs tacked on an insurance run in the eighth on unearned run. In the ninth, the Bisons got it back with an sac fly off of Miles' bat, but it was the Govs that won 12-8 and forces a rubber match on Sunday.
