Biography

HIGH SCHOOL
  • Attended Christ Presbyterian Academy under coach Larry Nesbit, who played at Lipscomb from 1998-2001
  • Made it to the state baseball championship twice, in which his team finished as a runner-up (2023, 2025)
  • Ranked 30th in the State of Tennessee and fourth among catchers, according to Perfect Game
  • Earned Preseason All-American Honorable Mention in the Southeast Region three times
  • Finalist for Mr. Baseball in the State of Tennessee
  • 2x Tennessee Sports Writers Association First Team honoree
  • 2x All-Region and All-District
  • 2x All-Mid State
  • Finished top three in school history in home runs and doubles and top 10 in batting average
  • Also played football at CPA, where his team made it to the state championship four times, winning twice (2023, 2024)
  • Named First Team All-Defense with the Tennessee Football Coaches Association (TnFCA) as a defensive lineman
  • Also earned All-District in football his senior year
  • Member of four region championships with both the baseball and football programs
PERSONAL
  • Son of Blake and Julie Beddingfield
  • One sister, Anna Grace
  • Father, Blake, was a former NFL Director of Scouting with the Tennessee Titans (1999-2017)
  • Grandfather on his mother’s side, Dave Brungard, played college football at Ohio State (1967, 1968) under head coach Woody Hayes and at Alabama (1970). With the Buckeyes in 1968, his team won the national championship. Transferred to Alabama prior to the 1970 season under then head coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, he led the SEC in yards per carry and went on to play with the Steelers
  • Grandfather on his father’s side, Donald Beddingfield, played college football at North Alabama (1961)
  • Plans to major in Sports Management at Lipscomb
  • Chose Lipscomb because: “I liked the feel of community of the student body and playing for a top-level baseball program.”
