NASHVILLE – Behind six runs in the first and two in the second, Eastern Kentucky University took down Lipscomb University 15-3 in the second game of a weekend series on Saturday afternoon from Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
EKU scored six runs in the first off of three homers in the first eight batters of the game.
The Colonels made it an 8-0 lead with back-to-back hit by pitches with the bases loaded and added a run in the third.
Lipscomb did get off the schneid in the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run by
Jordan Thomas, his second of the season, to make it a 9-1 score.
Three batters later,
Kai Holm used an RBI fielder's choice to make it a 9-2 lead for the Colonels.
Thomas did add an RBI double in the eighth inning, but the Colonels scored six more runs in the last two innings to secure the win.
KEY STATISTICS
The Bisons were limited to only five hits on the afternoon, led by two by
Jordan Thomas, who had a double and a homer and drove in two RBI.
Out of the bullpen,
Jevarra Martin Jr. secured his longest outing of the year in the bullpen with five shutout innings.
