NASHVILLE — Lipscomb University Baseball fell to Austin Peay State University by a final score of 6-2 at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium on Sunday. Despite the loss, the Bisons still secured the home weekend series and a 4-2 record against the Governors in 2026.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game remained scoreless until the third inning, when Austin Peay took the lead after Conley scored on a fielder's choice, making it 1-0 in favor of the visitors.
In the fifth inning, Lipscomb retaliated with
Hutson Miles hitting a solo home run to right field, leveling the score at 1-1.
Austin Peay responded in the sixth inning, with Costello delivering a two-run single to push it ahead 3-1 to give the Governors the lead for good.
In the seventh, Wisdom extended the lead for APSU with a solo homer to center, and Proctor later singled, but the Bisons kept the inning from escalating further. The score stood at 4-1.
Austin Peay added another run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly from Matias, increasing its lead to 5-1.
In the ninth inning, Lipscomb scored again when
Keaton Mahan singled and later crossed the plate following a groundout by
Brock Beddingfield. However, a throwing error allowed Austin Peay to score once more, concluding the game at 6-2 to avoid the sweep for the Governors.

Hutson Miles hit his first home run in a Bison uniform on Sunday to finish off a week where he went 7-of-13 at the plate with three triples and a home run.
Thanks to Miles' home run,
Collin Bosley-Smith was off the hook for the loss, as he earned the no-decision after tossing five innings of one-run, two-hit ball.
