LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Attempting to beat the rain forecasted for Saturday, Lipscomb University and Bellarmine University played two games on Friday. Moving to Voll Field at Trinity Stadium on the campus of Trinity High School, a near 10-hour day saw 41 combined runs and close to two hours of a lightning delay. Unfortunately for the Bisons, it was the Knights that won both games of the doubleheader, 17-10 and 9-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
It was all Lipscomb in the first two innings, as they stormed out to a 5-0 lead. Following a lead-off single by
Brady Miller,
Aaron Stelogeannis brought him home on an RBI groundout.
After a quick inning by
Cody Underwood in the bottom half, the Purple and Gold added four runs, and it started with a bang.
Jordan Thomas started the frame with a solo shot to make it 2-0.
Hutson Miles followed with a triple, and he scored on
Alejandro Ludeiro's double. Later, ahead 4-0 after Ludeiro touched home plate,
Cam Pruitt made it 5-0 with an RBI single.
In the third, Bellarmine scored four of their own to make it 5-4, and from there, the Knights took off at the plate. They added five more in the bottom of the fourth to flip the lead to 9-5.
The Bisons had to play catch-up, cutting the deficit to three runs, 10-7 on a
Brady Miller sac fly in the seventh, but five more runs in the seventh and two in the eighth by Bellarmine gave them the win and forced a rubber match in the series.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
Bellarmine wasted no time scoring to start game two of the twin bill and the series finale, scoring three in the bottom of the first.
The Knights added two more in the third, but in the fourth, Lipscomb got on the board with an RBI single by
Jordan Thomas.
Trailing 8-1 going into the seventh, following a lead-off walk by Thomas,
Hutson Miles laced an RBI double.
Lipscomb added a two-run single from
Brady Miller in the eighth and
Keaton Mahan scoring on a throwing error in the ninth to make it a 9-5 deficit, but the Knights held on for the doubleheader sweep and series win.
KEY STATISTICS
Jordan Thomas had two hits in the doubleheader, with one of them his fifth home run of the season.
Brady Miller had two RBI in each game on Friday.
After getting most of game one off,
Damion Kenealy Jr. had four hits on the day, including three in game two of the twin bill.
Cole Pippenger launched his first collegiate home run in game one of the doubleheader.
