The Lipscomb women’s cross country team finished fifth at the University of Evansville Invitational in Evansville, Ind. on Saturday morning.

Junior Carolyn Latham finished 17th in a field of 188 in her first race of the year. Her time of 18:28.74 paced the Lady Bisons.

Mary Ballinger of Southern Indiana won the 5000 meter race with a time of 17:18.67.

Sophomore Caitin Anderson was second for Lipscomb finishing 30th at 18:45.43. Freshmen Ashley Lehman and Catherine Beals finished 39th and 40th in 19:03.10 and 19:03.50, respectfully.

Sophomore Jenny Randolph finished 61st with a time of 19:24.50. Junior Shannon Shoemake was 78th at 19:49.10.

Southern Illinois won the team competition with 50 points. Lipscomb finished with 182 points with an average time of 18:57.06. The field included 19 teams.

The Lady Bisons are back in action on Nov. 1 in Macon, Ga. in the Atlantic Sun Championship.
