Top 10 of 11-12: Kihnl earns A-Sun co-Female Athlete of the Year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Capping off a stellar, award-filled career, Lipscomb softball pitcher Whitney Kihnl finished her career in the “Music City” by taking home Atlantic Sun Conference co-Female Scholar Athlete of the Year announced by the league in June.

The Batesville, Miss., native was joined by Florida Gulf Coast’s Courtney Chihil, a basketball standout, in receiving the honor.  Kihnl went 22-12 this past spring with a 1.79 ERA and notched 211 strikeouts en route to becoming just the third pitcher in A-Sun history to surpass 1,000 career strikeouts.

Kihnl has been accepted into Harding University’s physician’s assistant program and will continue her academic career in Searcy, Ark.
