This is the second consecutive season that Lipscomb has opened up on the road. Last year, the Lady Bisons fell at Dayton 82-60.Â
Scouting the CoyotesÂ
-

-
The Coyotes are the defending Summit League champions and were once again selected to win the conference in the preseason poll.Â
-
South Dakota was also voted second in the College Insider Mid-Major preseason poll. Last season, they started and finished the season in the top spot of the Mid-Major poll.
-
Senior center Hannah Sjerven was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year preseason watch list and was voted the Summit League Preseason Player of the Year.Â
-
Fellow senior Chloe Lamb joined Sjerven on the Preseason All-Conference First Team, while senior guard Monica Arens was named to the Second Team.Â
-
All three averaged in at least nine points per game last season: Sjerven (12.2 and 7.3 rebounds), Lamb (11.2), and Arens (9.3)Â

Last season, the Coyotes finished 30-2 with a perfect 16-0 conference record. They were set to play in the NCAA Tournament as the Summit League champions prior to the cancellation of March Madness.Â
Herd Notes
-
Clark and Lindsey Whiteside are the only seniors on the Lady Bisons roster.Â
-
During her All-Conference campaign, Clark was Lipscomb's leading scorer at 14.3 points per game, grabbed a team-best 5.2 rebounds per contest, and shot a roster-high 50.4 percent from the field. She also got to the free throw line at the highest rate on the team and shot 81.9 percent from the stripe.Â
-
Holcomb was named ASUN Freshman of the Week three times last season and averaged an ASUN freshman-best 12.6 points per game. She scored in double-figures 21 times and led the team with a 84 percent mark from the charity stripe.Â
-
Sophomore guard Casey Collier was named the ASUN Freshman of the Week twice in 2019-20. She dished out a team-high 3.0 assists per game and added 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds, second-best on the team despite being the shortest player on the roster.Â
-
After having their debut seasons in the Purple and Gold cut short due to injury, Sydney Shelton and Dorie Harrison are making an anticipated return to action for Lipscomb. Shelton was a Big-East All-Freshman honoree at Butler and Harrison a SEC Freshman of the Week.Â
-
Of Lipscomb's 11 returnees, six played at least 250 minutes last season.Â
-
The Purple and Gold led the ASUN in free throw percentage in 2019-20 with a .781 mark, which was good enough for 10th in the nation. Eight Lady Bisons shot at a clip of at least 70 percent.Â
-
Two new players have joined the Lipscomb roster: freshmen Jordan Peete and Diana Saleh. Peete is a guard from St. Louis, Missouri who is the all-time leading scorer at Ladue Horton Watkins. Saleh is a 6-3 center who is tied with Harrison as the tallest player on the roster.
