NASHVILLE - The Lipscomb women's basketball team and head coach Lauren Sumski have announced the signing of two student-athletes to the 2020 class: Jordan Peete and Diana Saleh.
"Jordan and Diana are both incredible young women that come from great families," Lipscomb women's basketball head coach Lauren Sumski said. "It was without question that they fit the mission and values of Lipscomb, as well as our women's basketball program and what we are trying to build here.
"While they both possess levels of raw athleticism and toughness, they are also both extremely hard workers - on and off the court. We are confident that they will be able to help our program, while also continuing to improve throughout their careers at Lipscomb."
Peete and Saleh are set to make an impact when they don the Purple and Gold in the fall, providing a strong inside-outside freshman combination.
"The additions of Jordan and Diana bolster our frontcourt and backcourt for this upcoming year. These are both efficient players offensively, that I would also consider plus defenders. They are really excited to join our family, and we are really excited for them to get here. Now, since they have graduated, we are excited to welcome them into our team virtual activities and get started!"
Jordan Peete | Guard | 5'6" | St. Louis, Missouri | Laude Horton Watkins High School
- All-time leading scorer in the history of the girls' basketball program
- 2019-20 All-State
- 2019-20 Conference Player of the Year
- Three-time All-Conference
- 1st-Team All-Metro 2019-20
Coach Sumski's Thoughts:
"Jordan comes to us pretty highly regarded from Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis, Missouri where she was a part of the program for four years. What I love about Jordan is that she never runs away from challenges and just stays the course. When she got to Ladue, the girl's basketball program had been struggling. Despite several coaching changes, the program improved each year, and in her senior year, she led her team to the state tournament. I think that says a lot about her. It was the same deal for summer ball. She played for a St. Louis Eagles program and had opportunities to join other programs, but she started and ended her career there. We can go down the long list of accolades she has earned throughout her career thus far, but I think that says the most about who she is and what we are getting with Jordan."

Diana Saleh | Center | 6'3" | Dearborn, Michigan | Fordson High School
- Two-time All-Conference
- All-West Team Honorable Mention
- Averaged 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 4.4 blocks per game
- Also lettered in volleyball and track and field
- Planned Biological Sciences major
Coach Sumski's Thoughts:
"Diana comes to us as one of those 'diamonds in the rough' from Dearborn High School in Dearborn, Michigan. She has only been playing basketball for a couple years, yes just two, but she has an incredibly athletic background where she participated in other sports like swimming, volleyball, softball, and track and field during her high school career. She also comes from an extremely athletic family, with a couple of cousins playing and coaching collegiate football and in the NFL. She has great size, good hands and great feet. The athleticism is definitely evident in how she runs the floor and her ability defensively. She's a sponge and ready to soak it all up for sure."

Sumski and her staff are eager to welcome Peete and Saleh onto a talented roster featuring strong returners and talented players waiting to make their full-season Bisons debut.
"We are really excited about this year's signing class and the upcoming season," Sumski said. "We are also excited to add players back into the fold who missed last year due to transfer and injury in Lindsey Whiteside, Sydney Shelton and Dorie Harrison, as well as the growth of our returners who were able to compete on the floor and the valuable experience they gained this past season."
