NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Women's Basketball Team has finalized the 2026-27 signing class with the addition of three transfers to the roster.
Taliah Lee, Kennedy Sproule and Mia Smith will join the Bisons for the upcoming year.
"These young ladies are all mature and experienced team players who have been a part of winning at the collegiate level," said head coach Lauren Sumski. "Most importantly, they are great people who are perfect fits for the university and program. I think our fans will enjoy getting behind them this season!"
This rounds out the signing class for the upcoming season. Last November, the program announced the addition of three freshmen to its roster.
Below is a brief bio on each transfer.
Taliah Lee | Guard | Spokane Valley, Washington | Mid-America Christian University
After playing her first two seasons at the University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana, Lee transferred to Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City for the 2025-26 season.
Last season with MACU, she led her team to the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship, where she was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Averaging 17.7 points per game during the tournament, she posted a career-high 31 points and nine rebounds in the championship against the College of the Ozarks. She played 28 minutes and was 12-of-19 and drained 5-of-11 from downtown.
Averaging 12.8 points on 46.7% from the field, 6.8 rebounds and 1.75 blocks per game with the Evangels, she was a Second Team All-SAC selection.
Including her time with Providence, she has been a part of three conference championships and postseason berths in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Lee will have one season of eligibility remaining in 2026-27, and she will spend it in the Music City.
Why she chose Lipscomb:
I chose Lipscomb because of the strong connection I felt with the coaching staff and the family atmosphere throughout the program. The coaches showed genuine care for me, and the support I felt through the process made the decision easy!
Thoughts from Coach Sumski:
Taliah is a player who brings a wealth of experience and winning to our program. With her size and skill set, she will be able to play multiple positions. She also saw a big jump in her offensive efficiency and production as a junior, making 54 threes last season.
Mia Smith | Guard | Hensley, Arkansas | Mid-America Christian University
Another transfer from MACU, Smith was a three-year letter-winner with the Evangels and will play her final collegiate campaign with Lipscomb in 2026-27. In 96 games, she scored 490 points, grabbed 248 rebounds and dished out 277 assists.
In her junior year in 2026, she was listed as an Honorable Mention recipient on the All-Sooner Athletic Conference Team. Averaging 9.3 points per game, her 111 assists were the ninth-most in a single season in MACU's NAIA era.
Why she chose Lipscomb:
When I stepped foot on campus, I immediately fell in love with it. The coaches and players did an amazing job of making me feel welcome. I knew it was my home.
Thoughts from Coach Sumski:
Mia is a skilled and versatile guard who has done nothing but win in her collegiate career. She has always been an exceptional decision maker for her teams, but she increased her offensive production in her junior season. She brings confidence and experience to our program.
Kennedy Sproule | Guard | Niverville, Manitoba, Canada | Valparaiso University
Sproule spent the 2025-26 season at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Playing in 27 games for the Beacons in limited action, she scored a season-high 11 points against Radford last November. She was a Missouri Valley Scholar-Athlete at the end of the season.
Prior to her time with Valpo, she played two seasons at Bay College in Escanaba, Michigan. She amassed 850 points in 61 games and 60 starts, including 40 games where she dropped 20 or more points. During her freshman year, she scored 45 points in a game by converting 13 triples.
Also totaling 469 rebounds, she also had 147 blocks, 104 steals and 89 assists. In her sophomore year with the Norse, she swatted away 98 blocks for the third-most in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
She was a Second Team All-Conference honoree by the Michigan Community College Athletic Association in 2024 and was named to the All-Defensive Team in 2025.
Sproule joins the Bisons with one season of eligibility remaining.
Why she chose Lipscomb:
I chose Lipscomb because I want to be part of the amazing team culture and grow in my faith!
Thoughts from Coach Sumski:
Kennedy brings added shooting to our roster, having made 186 threes in her collegiate career so far. She also has size and length to guard multiple positions and attack mismatches on the interior.
