NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After some shakeups with programs around the ASUN Conference this week due to COVID, the Lipscomb men's basketball finds itself back on the court this weekend, rather than having a bye week like originally planned.

The Bisons are set to host North Florida on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m. inside Allen Arena. Both contests will air on ESPN+ with father-son duo Jonathan and Justin Seamon handling the call from Don Meyer Court.
 

SERIES HISTORY
  • Despite winning five of the last six meetings with the Ospreys, Lipscomb trails in the all-time series 16-15.
  • The Bisons took 2-of-3 from UNF last season, including the meeting in Nashville (85-73) and the ASUN semifinal matchup (73-71) in Jacksonville that sent Lipscomb to the title game.
  • Ahsan Asadullah dominated the contest with 27 points, a career-high 19 rebounds and four assists in that semifinal victory.
  • UNF's last win in the Music City came in the ASUN Championship Semifinal of 2016-17 season.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
  • The Ospreys come to town 3-9 overall and 1-1 in league play after splitting its road series with Jacksonville last weekend – the program's first games since Dec. 21 due to COVID.
  • Statistically, the Ospreys rank second in the ASUN for free throw percentage connecting on 71.4 percent of their attempts (115-of-161) and while also ranking second in the league in blocks per game (3.4).
  • Emmanuel Adedoyin is tied for fourth in the league in three-point field goal percentage (22-of-46, 47.8%).
  • Dorian James is one of the top shooters in the league as he ranks second in free throw percentage (82.8%) and is tied for 10th in three-point field goal percentage (50%).
  • As a team, the Ospreys are one of the best ASUN squads at protecting the rim ranking second in blocks per game with a 3.4 average; UNF also sits second in free throw percentage at 71.4 percent.
  • The reigning national 3-point leaders have been strong again this season. Their 28.6 three-point attempts per game are tops in the ASUN, while their 10.6 makes are second most.
  • Carter Hendricksen tops the squad in scoring at 17.4 per game, to go along with his 5.6 rebounds.

ABOUT THE BISONS
  • Lipscomb features a balanced attack, with four players scoring in double figures, seven players averaging at least 5.0 points and 12 players averaging at least 10 minutes per game.
  • KJ Johnson leads a group of four players scoring in double figures at 14.5 PPG followed by Ahsan Asadullah (12.6 PPG), Romeao Ferguson (11.9 PPG) and Greg Jones (11.0 PPG)
  • Johnson averaged 17.0 ppg in two games against Bellarmine last weekend and is shooting a blistering 52.6 percent on the year … He is also averaging 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists each time out, compiling 23 assists to only 12 turnovers … He has scored 10+ points in 7-of-8 games, including five straight entering the weekend … Produced a season-high 25 points against Freed-Hardeman and added a 20-point outing last Friday against the Knights.
  • Romeao Ferguson continued his hot streak over the weekend and leads all ASUN seniors in scoring at 11.9 ppg … He has scored in double figures in 12-of-14 outings this season … He leads the conference with 21 steals and has swiped at least two in nine outings … His 19 total rebounds in ASUN games rank 7th across the league, leading to his 4.1 RPG.
  • Junior center Ahsan Asadullah is leading the team in rebounding (7.9) and assists (3.8) … He is second on the team in scoring at 12.6 ppg after producing games of seven and 19 against the Knights on the road last weekend ... One of the best passing big men in the country, he is 5th in the ASUN in assists per game while his 53 total helpers are the most among any center in the nation after registering at least three in 9-of-14 games this season … He also ranks fifth in scoring and eighth in rebounding among centers … He has pulled down a league-leading three double-doubles this season after totaling an ASUN-leading 15 last season.
  • Greg Jones averaged 13.5 ppg on the road at Bellarmine last weekend after connecting on 6-of-15 triples and producing a season-high 19 points in the opener … His 27 made triples are most on the Bisons and is shooting 39.1 percent from deep …His 30.4 minutes per game are tops on the team.

  • Of Lipscomb's 14 games thus far this season, eight have been decided by 10 points or less.
  • The Bisons are in their 17th season of play in the ASUN Conference after joining the league as a full-time member in 2003-04.
  • The Bisons swept the Knights in Bellarmine's first-ever ASUN games; Lipscomb pulled out a pair of five and seven-point road wins and remained in a tie for first place in the league (3-1).
  • Lipscomb and North Florida's series history dates back to 2006.
  • Lipscomb's 203 total assists on the year rank 25th in the country. The team's 14.5 assists per game total is the 4th-best total in the ASUN.
  • The Bisons lead the ASUN in free throws made (179) and attempted (255). Their 70.2 FT percentage ranks third.

  • Lennie Acuff is in his 2nd season at the helm of the program and his 31st overall as a head coach. His 16 wins last season were the most by a first-year head coach in Lipscomb's Division I era.
