CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS SHOW OUT AT ARTURO BARRIOS INVITE AND BLAZER CLASSIC

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb's cross country teams completed their final weekend of competition before the ASUN Championship on Saturday at the Arturo Barrios Invite and the UAB Blazer Classic.

Both Bison teams finished first at the Arturo Barrios Invite hosted by Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

The women's team finished first out of 33 teams with 72 points behind four top-20 finishes in the 6K race. Out of 265 runners sophomore Lydia Miller led the Bisons with a 4th place finish (20:35.4), Merabu Nagwandala placed 10th (20:53.9), Mackenzie Barnett finished 13th (20:56.9), and Colbi Borland logged a 20th place finish with a time of 21:10.9.

On the men's side, the Bisons solidified their first-place finish in the 8K with 93 points. Senior Grant O'Callaghan led the herd with a 6th place finish (23:45.2) followed by Brady Johnson at 14th (23:59.1 and Adam Cortez at 20th (24:06.8). The Bisons collected their first-place finish over a field of 263 runners and 32 teams.

Down in Birmingham, Ala. the Bisons continued their Saturday morning success at the UAB Blazer Classic with a 5th place finish from the men and a 10th place finish from the women's team.

Senior Ben Ruffing led the men's team with an 11th place finish and a time of 25:07.39. The Bisons logged four other top-50 finishes from Ben Butcher (25:35.05), Jonathan Schwind (25:37,34), Andy Stohr (26:04.07), and Reece Collie (26:11.09).

The women's team finished 10th out of 17 teams in the 6K race. Freshman Liza Corso led the herd to finish 21st with a time of 22:27.17 in her first collegiate 6K.
