CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS POST TOP-10 FINISHES AT NCAA SOUTH REGIONAL MEET

HUNTSVILLE – The Lipscomb men's and women's cross country teams posted fourth and seventh overall finishes respectively at the NCAA South Regional meet Friday morning in Huntsville, Ala. These results mark the highest regional finish in men's program history.

The men's team secured their fourth-place finish with 130 points and three top-30 finishes. Senior Grant O'Callaghan led the herd to finish 10^th in the 10K race with a time of 29:48.61. Adam Cortez finished 26^th with a time of 30:39.04 closely followed by Joshua Bell, who finished 27^th with a time of 30:39.15.

Out of the 175 runners in the field, all seven of the Bisons finished in the top-65. Brady Johnson finished 32^nd, Brent Leber claimed 35^th place, Patrick Smith was the 49^th runner across the line, and Sam Shaylor secured the Bisons' 4^th place finish as he was the 65^thrunner to the finish.

The women's squad posted 194 points to finalize their seventh-place finish in the 6K race. Sophomore Lydia Miller was the first Bison across the line as she finished 25^th with a time of 20:38.08.

Freshman Mackenzie Barnett was the second Bison to the line as she finished 34^th, followed by Merabu Nagwandala at 41^st. Colbi Borland and Liza Corso finished 48^th and 49^th respectively, while Sydney Liddle finished 74^th, and Mollie Longmire sealed the Bisons' finish as she crossed the line 98^th out of 225 runners.
