Cross Country Women Take Second, Men Sixth at Arturo Barrios Invite

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Lipscomb's cross country programs completed their second meet of the weekend at Texas A&M's Arturo Barrios Invitational Saturday morning. The women's team shone with a second-place finish on a total of 87 points in the 6K while the men's team took sixth in the 8K.

Sophomore Lydia Miller led the women's squad across the line with a huge personal best of 20:20.7, smashing her previous best of 20:35.5 from the same meet last season. Ally Suyak was the next Bison across the line as she posted a time of 20:45.7 to claim 11^th place.

Mackenzie Barnett and Colbi Borland crossed the line 17^th and 22^nd with times of 21:02.2 and 21:06.4 respectively. Kiara Carter was the fifth Bison to the finish as she logged a 21:29.4 to finish 33^rd out of 326 runners.

On the men's side, Brady Johnson led the herd across the line with a fourth-place finish on a personal best time of 23:51.9, replacing his former best of 23:59.1 from the 2021 Arturo Barrios Invite. Scott McKenzie logged a personal best time of his own at 24:12.3 to finish 17^th out of 360 runners.

Freshman Levi Streeval recorded his own personal best of 24:49.6 to cross the line 52^nd. Braedon Palmer and Nick Regas sealed Lipscomb's sixth place finish with times of 25:18.0 and 25:51.2 to finish 100^th and 157^th respectively.

The Bisons will be back on the course on Saturday, Oct. 29 for the ASUN Cross Country Championships in Huntsville, Ala.
