Men’s Tennis Drops Match to ETSU Buccaneers

Box Score JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Lipscomb's men's tennis program hit the road on Friday to face the Southern Conference's ETSU for a non-conference face-off. The Bisons took two points in singles play but ultimately lost the match 2-5 to the Buccaneers.

In doubles play, losses on courts one and two for the Bisons awarded the Buccaneers the first point of the match. Pedro Uribe and Gonzalo Garcia-Nieto fell 3-6 to their ETSU foes on court one while Sam Fischer and Alex Mesquida were bested 3-6 by their opponents on court two.

Maksim Bogdanovich and Luka Stojanovic's match at the No. 3 position went unfinished at 4-5 when the doubles point was decided.

Singles play saw Maksim Bogdanovich and Pedro Uribe fall in two-set matches on courts one and two, respectively (2-6, 6-3 and 0-6, 0-6). At the No. 5 and 6 positions, Carlos Salas Tulla and Luka Stojanovic also fell in two-set matches to their ETSU adversaries, going 3-6, 3-6 and 2-6, 2-6 on their courts.

At the No. 3 position, Alex Mesquida earned one of the Bisons' points for the contest in a three-set triumph over his ETSU foe, going 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 to take the match.

Sam Fischer collected the Bisons' second point in a battle with his Buccaneer opponent on court four. Fischer earned his three-set win after going 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 12-10 against his foe.

The Bisons will be back in action on Wednesday, March 16 for their home opener against Samford. First serve will be at 11:00 AM at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center on Lipscomb's campus.
