Four from Men’s Tennis Named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Men's Tennis team saw four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team, announced on Tuesday (May 12).

Facundo Perlov, Oliver Thoeny, Henrique Ushizima and Filippo Verdese were honored on the listing. All four were named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic Team back in April.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's tennis honorees in four divisions -- NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To qualify for the award, student-athletes must carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and must play in 75% of dual contests (regional competition such as ITAs and non-team scored events do not count).

Perlov, a senior from Buenos Aires, Argentina, recently graduated from Lipscomb with a degree in Business Marketing. Earning CSC Academic All-District honors for the second straight year, he posted a 10-11 record at the top flight for the Bisons in singles. In doubles, he recorded an 11-4 spring record to earn Second Team All-ASUN honors.

Thoeny, a junior from Adelaide, Australia, earned his first Academic All-District honor in his career as he is majoring in Psychology. In singles, he went 10-11 and added seven wins in doubles play.

Ushizima, a senior from São Paulo, Brazil, collected his second College Sports Communicators Academic All-District accolade in as many seasons. Earning a degree in Business Management, he secured a 14-9 singles record and a 10-11 mark in doubles.

Verdese, a junior from Genova, Italy, received his first Academic All-District accolade with the Bisons. Currently majoring in Finance, he went 9-11 on the season in singles and an 11-5 record in doubles, including 10 dubs at the No. 2 flight.
