COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb University Men's Tennis team participated at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Ohio Valley Regional Championships at the Farm and Forge Club, south of Nashville.Â
SINGLES COMPETITION
Matei Daniel Stan and Filippo Verdese advanced out of the qualifying draw with two wins each. Verdese used a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Purdue's Mateusz Milton and a 5-7, 7-5, 6-4 victory versus Rohan Loubser of Austin Peay to make it to the main draw.
Stan used a 6-4, 6-4 win against Maxime Aremon of Chattanooga and 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 three-set victory over Matteo Antonescu of Indiana.Â
In the main draw, Stan and Henrique Ushizima earned one win each to advance to the round of 32. Stan won 6-1, 7-5 over Jakub Jupa of UTC before losing to No. 116 Johan Osca Lien of Kentucky, while Ushizima took down Riccardo Baldi of Butler, 6-0, 6-0.Â
DOUBLES COMPETITION
Stan and Oliver Thoeny picked up the lone win for the Bisons in the main draw with an 8-6 victory over Colby Berson/Ryan Parkins of Bellarmine.Â
