Henrique Ushizima earned his 100th career victory between singles and doubles during the fall event.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lipscomb University Men's Tennis team opened the fall schedule with 13 wins between singles and doubles at the Samford Fall Invitational over the weekend of Sept. 18-20.

The Bisons took on the hosts in Samford, as well as Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State in a hidden dual format.

In addition, Henrique Ushizima picked up his 100th career victory between singles and doubles during a singles win against Samford's Lukas Dvorak, 6-4, 6-4.

Freshman Nico Bellas earned three wins in singles, including a 6-2, 7-6(4) sweep of Dominic Ducariu of Kennesaw State.

Matei Daniel Stan also earned two wins in his first collegiate matches, winning in straight sets against Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State.

In doubles, Ushizima and Juwan Bae won a 7-5 tiebreak to take down the Bulldogs, 7-6.

UP NEXT
The Bisons will next participate in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Oct. 8-13. The event will take place in nearby College Grove, Tennessee at the Farm and Forge Club.
