NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Men's Tennis Team took down Tennessee State University with a 5-2 win on Wednesday afternoon from the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons and Tigers each won a doubles flight to start the match. On court one,
Alex Vlahos and
Oliver Thoeny (2-2) defeated Taj Hibbert and Mete Koseoglu 6-4.
However,
Filippo Verdese and
Facundo Perlov (6-0) clinched the team point in doubles for the third time and the second straight contest, taking down Tatenda Mutetwa and Christopher Bogelin 6-2.
Moving to singles, all of Lipscomb's wins came in straight sets: Verdese (17-14),
Henrique Ushizima (18-15), and Oskar Szymcak (21-13).
However, on court six, Thoeny (9-10) won a marathon break with a 14-12 score to defeat Bogelin 6-2, 7-6 (12).
Lipscomb ends a two-match losing skid to TSU with the victory on Wednesday, as they last beat the Tigers on Feb. 10, 2023.
