Cross Country Women Claim ASUN Conference Champions Title, Men Earn Third at Conference Championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb cross country played host to the 2023 ASUN Cross Country Championships Saturday morning and both squads turned in incredible performances at the Vaughns Gap Cross Country Course. The women earned a perfect score of 15 and first place for their 10th ASUN Conference Champions title with the first five finishes belonging to the Bisons. The men totaled 62 points to claim third place.

Lipscomb's ladies kicked things off at 9:15am CT and set a brisk pace from the get-go, dominating as a collected Herd at the front of the competition for a majority of the 5k race. The squad stayed tight to the finish line and collected six of the first seven finishes in the race, setting a new ASUN record for the lowest score by a winning team.

Kiara Carter led the way across the finish line, logging a personal-best time of 16:54.6 across the line to claim Lipscomb's fourth ASUN Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year title. She was followed closely across the line by Lydia Miller in second place with a blazing 16:58.9 to add two points to Lipscomb's total.
