
Track & Field Wraps Up Weekend in California with Three New Program Records

AZUSA, Calif. / LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Lipscomb men's and women's track & field programs continued their successful outdoor season by competing in both the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California and the Pacific Coast Invite in Long Beach, California over the weekend. The Bisons captured three new program records in the women's long jump, women's 1,500m run, and women's 5,000m run, while also resetting the record book in multiple events.
Sophomores Kiara Carter, Lydia Miller, and Aislinn McElhaney all broke program records to lead the women's side over the weekend. Carter closed out the weekend by shattering the outdoor 1,500m run with a time of 4:19.43, while Miller broke the outdoor 5,000m run program record with a time of 15:52.20 in the event. After a successful showing in the long jump at the Pacific Coast Invite on Friday (5.95m), McElhaney shattered her own outdoor long jump for the second meet in a row with a distance of 6.30m.
Junior Austin Remick paced the men's side at the Bryan Clay Invitational by posting the fastest times by a Lipscomb runner in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:00.46) and in the 1,500m run (3:47.17). Sophomore Brady Johnson posted a time of 1:50.57 in the 800m run to lead the Bisons in the event, while also running a time of 3:48.39 in the 1,500m run. Freshman Levi Streeval posted times of 1:52.13 in the 800m run and 3:50.60 in the 1,500m run, while junior Nick Regas ran times of 9:13.33 in the 3,000m steeplechase and 3:51.16 in the men's 1,500m run.
Freshman Liza Corso and Miller also posted times of 4:19.54 and 4:19.98 in the women's 1,500m run to also join Carter as the top-three fastest times in program history in that event. Sophomore Colbi Borland ran a time of 15:58.83 in the 5,000m run, while sophomore Mackenzie Barnett and Corso finished with times of 16:22.47 and 16:22.95 in the event respectively. Carter also ran a time of 2:06.80 in the 800m run, while Borland and Barnett ran times of 4:24.57 and 4:25.88 in the 1,500m run.
