Men’s Tennis Bests Bulldogs 6-1

Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb men's tennis welcomed the Alabama A&M Bulldogs to the Ensworth High School Tennis Center for their second match of the season Saturday afternoon. The Bisons brought home their first victory of the season after a passionate performance from the squad saw them earn the doubles point and five singles victories.

Lipscomb's squad earned the doubles point after a hard-fought set of matches on all three courts. Krysztof Wetoszka and Sebastian Dominguez earned the first doubles win for the squad with a 6-1 win on court two. Carlos Salas Tulla and Henrique Ushizima clinched the doubles point for the Bisons with their 6-4 win on court three.

Things heated up in singles play and the two squads battled viciously as the match continued. Salas Tulla secured the first singles point of the match in the Bisons' favor with a 6-3, 6-1 win over his opponent on court six.

The Bulldogs responded with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Juan Lombisano on court five, but Lipscomb's squad jumped right back on the attack and claimed the remaining four singles points in three set victories.

Wetoszka earned the win at the top spot with a 4-6, 7-6(7-2), 6-1 score, followed seconds later by Matheus Lima's 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 win on court four. Henrique Ushizima emerged victorious from a 6-7(6-8), 6-1, 1-0(10-6) battle with his opponent on court three before Sebastian Dominguez concluded the Bisons' victory with his 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 comeback win at the No. 2 spot.

The Bisons will next face off with Southern Indiana as they travel to Evansville, Ind. on Friday, Feb. 2^nd for a 2:00 PM CT matchup with the Screaming Eagles.
