CHARLESTON, S.C. – Lipscomb Men's Golf rounded out the Battle at Briar's Creek Tuesday afternoon, finishing ninth in a field of 14 teams. Ford Goldasich was a bright spot for the Bisons, winning the individual championship.
As a squad, the Bisons posted a 295 in the first round and a 291 in the second round for a (+10) on the event. The competition was reduced from a 54-hole to a 36-hole competition after weather suspended play after the first six holes on Monday.
Ford Goldasich reigned victorious, finishing (-4) on the competition, a stroke ahead of the second-place finishers. In his first round, Goldasich shot a 71 (-1) with three birdies and a pair of bogeys. Goldasich began his second round with a bogey on his second hole, but was consistent with pars over his next six. Just before the turn, he birdied a par-4 and caught fire with birdies on four of his next eight holes. Although he bogeyed his final hole, his 69 on the round was enough to come away with the individual championship, his first since the Graeme McDowell Invitation in the fall of 2022. All told, Goldasich carded 24 pars and eight birdies.
Sam Potter was the next finisher for the Bisons as he tied for 13th, finishing even on the tournament. Potter was solid throughout both rounds of competition, posting a 72 in each of the rounds. He carded seven birdies throughout the tournament to bolster 23 pars.
Jaron Leasure finished tied for 43rd on the event, posting a 77 in the first round before improving with a 74 in the second round of play. All told, Leasure carded a (+2) with 27 pars and a birdie.
Alexandro Rodriguez and Will Holan rounded out the team scoring for the Bisons with a 48th and 60th-place finish, respectively. Rodriguez posted a 76 in each the first and second rounds while Holan shot a 76 in the first round and 79 in the second round.

HEAD COACH WILL BREWER
Ford was a ball striking machine this week in very challenging conditions with winds from 20 to 35 miles per hour. I am proud of his effort! As a team we are getting closer. We are learning, growing and becoming more confident. I am proud of the grind of this team and I am really proud of our work ethic and desire to compete.
