NASHVILLE – Beginning a stretch of three straight matches in three days, the Lipscomb University Men's Tennis team suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Belmont University, Thursday evening from the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After Belmont cruised to a 6-0 win on court one in doubles, Lipscomb responded with wins on courts two and three to take the doubles point.
Facundo Perlov and
Filippo Verdese on court two and
Henrique Ushizima and
Oliver Thoeny on court three took the wins for the Bisons, as Ushizima and Thoeny clinched the point.
In singles, it was a battle. The Bruins got on the board with a 6-4, 6-1 win on court two, bu the Bisons made it a 2-1 team lead thanks to Perlov's 6-3, 6-4 rout of Charlie Robin to earn his fifth win of the spring and his 13th overall.
The pendulum went back to Belmont after they won court five, 7-5, 6-3, but Lipscomb got within a point of taking the contest after a win on court three.
Ushizima (11-12) improved to 7-4 this spring with the dub on court three. After Sabi Roi forced a third set with a 6-0 shutout in the second set, the senior came back to even the team score at 2-2 with a 6-2, 0-6, 6-3 victory.
However, the Bruins took court four with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win by Morgan Woodson, and the contest came down to the sixth flight.
Thoeny took the opening set, 6-4, but Bautista Durrels Rojo edged out the last two sets, 7-5, to clinch the match for the visitors.
