Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award for 13th Straight Season

Also Earned AVCA Team Honor Roll, being one of top 20% of teams in Division I to earn accoalde
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Lipscomb University Volleyball team, for the 17th time since 2004, has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, announced by the AVCA on Thursday.
Since 2010, the Bisons have been listed as a Team Academic Award member in 16 of the last 17 years and have been listed for the 13th consecutive year.
The AVCA Team Academic Award is given to programs that maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale).
More impressively, for the fourth time in the last five years, the Bisons were also honored on the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, going to programs who finished in the top 20% of the division.
During the 2025-26 academic year, LUV posted a team grade point average of 3.70, including an impressive 3.72 mark during the fall semester.
In total, 230 Division I indoor volleyball teams were recognized on the Academic Award, while 50 were included as Team Academic Honor Roll members.
11 of 12 teams from the 2025-26 Atlantic Sun Conference membership were honored on the Team Academic Award, and four schools, Bellarmine, Eastern Kentucky, LIpscomb and Queens were listed on the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll.
