Jamie Aid is entering her 13th season as head coach of the Lipscomb women’s tennis team prior to the 2025-26 season.
Aid, a Lipscomb women’s tennis alumna, returned to Lipscomb’s women’s tennis program in 2010 when she joined the staff as an assistant coach to Andrew Harris. She was later named head coach prior to the start of the 2013-14 season. Since she took the helm, she has posted a 127-120 overall record.
The 2025 campaign saw the Bisons win double digits for the second straight year, the first such instance since the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Going 13-7 on the campaigh, she led Sofiia Paladi to her second straight All-ASUN selection.
The 2024 ASUN Coach of the Year had her most successful season during the 2023-24 campaign. To open the season, Aid guided the Bisons to a victory against UAB on Jan. 13 to win her 100th career match as the Bisons' head coach.
Aid went on to lead the Bisons to an 8-2 start in the first 10 games, tying the program's historic best start through 10 games and the first national ranking in program history. She led the squad to a 15-6 record and the No. 2 seed in the ASUN Tournament, the programs highest ever postseason seed. Under Aid's guidance, Sasha Dobranos was named the 2024 ASUN Player of the Year, Mariya Dolzhenko was named the 2024 ASUN Freshman of the Year and Dobranos and Rut Galindo were named the 2024 Doubles Pair of the Year. In addition, Sofiia Paladi and Dobranos earned First Team All-ASUN honors while Dolzhenko earned a spot on the second team. Anja Trbeznik also earned a place on the ASUN All-Academic Team.
In the 2021-22 season, the squad collected a 6-14 overall record, highlighted by victories over opponents such as UT Martin, Murray State, and Villanova. Aid’s recruiting class for the 2022-23 season was recognized by TennisRecruitingNetwork.net at #23 in their Mid-Major poll, the highest ranking for a recruiting class in the program's Division I era.
Since Aid took the helm, her squads have appeared in the conference tournament every year with the exception of 2022 and in 2020 when no championship was held. Under her direction, the Bisons made it to the semi-finals for the first time in the program’s Division I era in 2015 and followed up that trip with semi-finals appearances in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2021.
She has coached players to consistent recognition with four ASUN All-Tournament selections, eight ASUN All- Freshman selections, nine ASUN All-Conference Second Team selections, and 10 ASUN All-Conference First Team selections. She coached Viktoriya Dzyuba to two ASUN Player of the Year titles (2017 and 2019) and Sasha Dobranos to the ASUN Player of the Year Title in 2024. She also led Kate Popova to the 2017 ASUN Freshman of the Year title and Mariya Dolzhenko to the 2024 ASUN Freshman of the Year honor.
With her 2017 Player of the Year title, Dzyuba earned a spot at the 2017 ITA Masters Tournament, a tournament in which the top player from each conference is selected to compete. She also became the program’s first nationally ranked player in 2019 as she earned a place in the ITA rankings three times in 2017 with her top spot at #53 in the January 4, 2017 rankings. Dzyuba went on to claim the #12 spot in the Ohio Valley Region Oracle/ITA Division I Women’s Rankings on June 5, 2019. She was a three-time All-American, earning the rank in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Dzyuba and doubles partner Denise Buberl were named the 2016 ASUN Doubles Pair of the Year. Buberl represented the ASUN at the 2016 ITA Regional Championships (singles) and the 2017 ITA Regional Championships (doubles).
Aid prioritizes academics among her players as well as the Bisons have been named an ITA All-Academic Team in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Five Lipscomb players have earned spots on the ASUN All-Academic Team as well during Aid’s tenure.
Aid spent two years on the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Tennis Committee in 2016 and 2017, and spent an additional two years as the ASUN Chair to the Committee.
Prior to rejoining the Lipscomb tennis program, Aid served a tennis director at Ensworth High School from 2007 through 2010 where she oversaw the high school, junior varsity, and middle school teams. She served as head coach for the boys’ and girls’ teams and produced winning seasons with both teams each year, as well as earning regular appearances in the TSSAA State Tournament. Aid’s combined overall record was 44-11.
Aid held several positions at Ensworth, working on the high school level in the Dean of Students office as head of academic support and as a faculty member in the fitness department.
Aid graduated from Lipscomb University with a B.S. degree in 2006. She transferred to Lipscomb from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. after being sidelined with a knee injury. While playing for Lipscomb, she redshirted for one year and then played two seasons at Lipscomb. She was named First Team All-Conference one season. She served as captain of the Lipscomb tennis team as a junior and senior.
Off the court, Aid earned numerous academic honors including spots on the Provost List and the Dean’s List. She was a three-time ASUN All-Academic Team member, was named to the National Dean’s List, and was a member of “Who’s Who among American College Students”.
She graduated from Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee where she played tennis on the varsity level from the eighth grade through her senior year. Aid was a top player in state of Tennessee in juniors as well as the southeast region. She later served on the alumni board from 2006-2009 at Brentwood Academy.
She lives in Nashville with her husband, Matt Kwasek, daughter, Elizabeth and their dog, Stella.
