Houston High joined the Lipscomb Baseball coaching staff prior to the 2026 season as the Director of Pitching Development.
A Lipscomb Academy alum, he played collegiate baseball at Union University (2021), Volunteer State Community College (2022), Freed-Hardeman University (2023-24) and Tennessee Technological University (2025). Pitching in 99.2 innings, he posted a 9-4 career record with 77 strikeouts.
In his second season with Freed-Hardeman, he was honored by the Mid-South Conference as a Gold Glove recipient at pitcher. Along with 11 assists and two putouts, he fanned 43 batters in 56 innings on the mound.
High’s family is synonymous with Lipscomb University.
His father, Brent High, played baseball at Lipscomb from 1992-96. After graduation, he served as Lipscomb’s sports information director from 1996-99. Later, he returned to Lipscomb to serve as Assistant Director of Athletics from 2007-11, overseeing development and external affairs. In the fall of 2011, he was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Spiritual Formation until 2015.
His mother, Emily Pleasant High, was a NAIA All-American with the Bisons women’s basketball program in 1997. Attending Lipscomb from 1994-97, she scored 1,484 points and was a part of back-to-back NAIA national semifinal appearances in 1995 and 1996.
Houston graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 2024. He obtained a Master of Professional Studies from Tennessee Tech in 2026.
