Baseball Announces 2022 Slate

The Lipscomb baseball team and 16th-year head coach Jeff Forehand are excited to announce the 2021 schedule as it was announced Friday.
The Bisons will play a total of 55 games throughout the season with 29 games taking place at Ken Dugan Field.
"Every year, all teams are excited about their team's schedule, and we are no different," said Forehand. "Every team has been working just like us and it is always fun when the competition starts back up."
Lipscomb will open the season at home with a three-game series against Akron (Feb. 18-20). The Bisons will stay at home for its next four games with tilts against WKU (Feb. 22), Pittsburgh (Feb. 25-26) and Bradley (Feb. 26).
The Bisons will face its first road test against MTSU (Mar. 1) before returning to the friendly confines for four-straight home games. Some other key non-conference road matchups throughout the season include a weekend series at Georgia (Mar. 11-13), a midweek game at Louisville (Mar. 22) and another "Power-Five" opponent in Tennessee (Apr. 5).
Another key matchup is with perennial powerhouse, Vanderbilt. The teams will meet for the 26th time in program history with this matchup taking place at First Horizon Park, home of the Nashville Sounds.
The Bisons will play crosstown rival, Belmont, twice in the annual Battle of the Boulevard. The first matchup will be at Dugan Field (Mar. 2) with the final non-conference game of Lipscomb's season taking place at Rose Park (May 10) for the final game of the 2022 Battle of the Boulevard series.
For the second-consecutive season, Lipscomb will open ASUN Conference play at Dugan field when the Bisons welcome ASUN newcomer, Jacksonville State (Mar. 18-20). Other home conference series include EKU, another ASUN newcomer (Apr. 8-10), Central Arkansas (Apr. 29-May 1), Bellarmine (May 6-9) and Lipscomb's regular season finale against North Alabama (May 19-21).
Lipscomb will play five ASUN series on the road, opening with Central Arkansas (Mar. 25-27) followed by Bellarmine (Apr. 1-3), North Alabama (Apr. 14-16), Jacksonville State (Apr. 22-24) and EKU (May 13-15).
"We get just a taste of competition in the fall with a couple of games against outside competition which makes our players and coaches excited about the season. We are excited about all of the great teams we play," added Forehand. "See you at Dugan Field Feb. 18th."
The ASUN Tournament will be held in Fort Myers, Fla. at FGCU's Swanson Stadium on May 25-28.
