Dougherty Named To Top Drawer Soccer National Team Of The Week

NASHVILLE - Junior Ryan Dougherty was named to Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week after a impressive outing against East Tennessee State on February 13.

The midfielder earned the honor after having a three-point match, notching a goal and the game-winning assist in Lipscomb's 2-1 win over the Buccaneers.

Dougherty gave the Bisons the early lead in the match as he rocketed a shot from a free kick into the back of the net for his first goal of the season in the seventh minute of play. After ETSU tied the match and with just three minutes remaining in regulation, the Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania native came through once again for Lipscomb as his pass into the box found the head of Hayes Wood, who redirected the ball in for the game-winner.

Dougherty and the Bisons will make their return to the pitch for the first ASUN Conference match of the season on Feb. 27 versus Bellarmine at 3 p.m., from the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
