HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first inning, Belmont threatened to quickly open things up, but Lipscomb dug in and stranded the Belmont bases loaded to keep things scoreless.
Belmont took a 3-0 lead with a two-out rally in the top of the second. The Bruins continued to extend its lead in the top of the fourth with four runs to make it a 7-0 ballgame.
Lipscomb was able to crack the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning. Robbie Merced started the rally with a one-out double.

Designated Hitter Ethan Stamps plated the first run of the night when he launched a two-out double that brought Merced around to cut the lead 7-1.

The second Bisons run of the night came when David Graves barreled a single with a runner on third to cut into the lead 7-2 after six complete.

Belmont responded with three runs in the top of the seventh and a run in the top of the eighth to get the lead back out to 11-2 at the end of eight.
Lipscomb was unable to plate any more runs in the ninth inning as the Bisons fell 11-2 at Ken Dugan Field.
