Lipscomb had its best offensive performance Sunday, with a season-high 17 hits on the afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lipscomb took a commanding lead, putting seven runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning. All of the Bisons' runs came with two outs. Maddux Houghton got Lipscomb's hot offense started with a one-out single up the middle. The first run crossed the plate when David Graves blasted a two-out triple to the right-field fence for a 1-0 lead.

Ethan Stamps and Tiger Borom both delivered RBI singles to increase the Lipscomb lead 4-0.

After a North Alabama error allowed the Bisons to load the bases, Brian Moore increased the lead by four runs with one swing of the bat. He hammered his second home run of the season in exciting fashion with a grand slam.

North Alabama eventually retire the Bisons, but not before they took a 7-0 lead.

Lipscomb continued to pour on the offense in the bottom of the third. Three free passes juiced the bases, but the Lions nearly got out of the inning unscathed with two outs. Malik Williams had different plans with a single up the middle that was enough to plate two more runs for a 9-0 lead.

The Bisons scored yet again in the bottom of the fourth. Ethan Stamps stayed perfect from the plate on the day when he hit a leadoff double to left field.

After Stamps advanced to third base on a wild pitch, Chaz Bertolani notched an RBI with a single to left field that gave the Bisons a 10-0 lead.

North Alabama finally cracked the scoreboard in the top of the fifth. After a Lions run in the fifth and sixth, the Lipscomb lead was cut 10-2.

The Lions tightened things up in the top of the third with three runs to make the deficit just five runs at 10-5.

Lipscomb put things out of reach in the bottom of the ninth in exciting fashion. A leadoff double from Ty Jones and walks from Borom and Merced juiced the bases with two outs yet again for Moore. The senior connected on the first pitch and hit his second grand slam of the game, both over the left field fence, to increase Lipscomb's lead 14-5.

The Bisons' pitching got the job done and held the Lions off the board in the top of the ninth to secure the 14-5 victory.
