Streich Qualifies for USA Track & Field U.S. Team Olympic Trials

NASHVILLE – Shane Streich will compete in his final meet in a Lipscomb uniform this weekend as he has qualified for the USA Track & Field U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 800m. 

The qualifying round is set for Friday, June 18 at 7:26 p.m. CT at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The semifinal will be Saturday, June 19 at 9:04 p.m. CT. 

The top 32 times in the United States are invited to the Olympic trials for the qualifying round. Streich comes in with the 20th best time in the United States with a mark of 1:46.70 that he recently posted at the finals of the NCAA Championships. 

Streich is the first male athlete in Lipscomb history to be invited to represent the Bisons at the Olympic Trials. Madi Talbert is the only other Lipscomb invitee where she competed in the 3000m steeplechase in 2016.
