Women's Tennis' Caitlin Khouri McNiece: Where Are They Now?

Caitlin Khouri McNiece was a member of the women's tennis team for Lipscomb from 2004-08. She took some time to recall her days as a Lady Bison for "Where Are They Now?"

What years did you compete for Lipscomb, and who coached you?
I competed 2004-2008, Lynn Griffith.
 
 
What teammates were most memorable, and why?
Claire Landry, Casey Hall and Jamie Aid, who is now the head women's tennis coach at Lipscomb, were my most memorable teammates because they were my doubles partners over the years.
 
 
What degree have you earned, from where, and when?
I earned my BA in Graphic Design from Lipscomb University.
 
 
Why did you attend Lipscomb?
I chose Lipscomb because I loved its friendly atmosphere and that it was based in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee.
 
 
What is your favorite athletic memory at Lipscomb?
My favorite memories include late night tennis matches and going to IHOP with my teammates during a blizzard in Illinois. The bus rides were incredibly memorable. I also loved our team meetings where Coach Griffith would share his favorite Bible passages that would relate to whatever we were trying to achieve at the time.
 
 
Who influenced your athletic career at Lipscomb?
Definitely Coach Lynn Griffith. I was incredibly sad to hear of his passing as he had such a positive impact on my life.
 
 
What do you remember about Lipscomb campus life during your time here?
I remember trying to make it back to the dorms by curfew and spending long hours painting in the art studio which was located in the basement of the men's dorm at the time. I enjoyed and learned so much from the art classes and all of the professors at Lipscomb.
 
And I can't forget having to memorize the entire book of Romans in Dr. Harvey Floyd's class.
 
 
What are the most valuable lessons you learned in your time at Lipscomb? 
As a student athlete, I had to learn time management and that teamwork makes the dream work! You learn a lot of life lessons as a student athlete and that was definitely true for me during my time at Lipscomb.
 
 
Who were your favorite professors and why?
Laura Lake Smith. She had a passion for Art History and her classes were so interesting. I learned and retained so much valuable history from her classes. Also, Rocky Horton because he taught me how to take critique and use it to my advantage, making me a better artist.
 
 
Where did you grow up?
Norcross, Georgia
 
 
Where do you live, and what do you do now? 
I live in Williamsburg, Virginia and after a 13- year career in packaging manufacturing, I am now a Special Programs manager for a wireless company where my focus is bringing in more business via partnerships with grass roots NASCAR drivers and also working to maintain a positive culture for the business.
 
 
Tell us about your family: 
I have been married to my husband, Blake, for 8 years. We have a beautiful and charismatic daughter named Chandler. She is our greatest blessing!
