Imes and Jackson Collect Second Straight Track & Field Weekly Awards

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Track and Field's Bella Jackson and Jonathan Imes each collected their second weekly honors of the season Wednesday following impressive performances at the Commodore Challenge. Imes claimed the men's Track Athlete of the Week title for the fourth time in his career while Jackson claimed her second women's Freshman of the Week title following her second collegiate outing.

Graduate student Jonathan Imes decisively claimed his weekly accolade following dominant performances in the middle-distance categories as he led the Bisons in the men's 200m run and the men's 400m run.

The Germantown, Md. native finished third overall in the men's 200m with a time of 21.71 in the race. This time puts Imes solidly at second in the ASUN for the men's 200m run thus far this season.
Imes continued his assertive showing with a 47.38 time in the men's 400m run. He earned first place overall for his efforts over opponents from Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Western Kentucky.

Bella Jackson earned her second consecutive Freshman of the Week accolade as she smashed the program and personal women's high jump record she set in her collegiate debut at the 2021 Hoosier Open in December.

The Whiteland, Ind. product logged a height of 1.75m (5' 8.75") in the event, making it through five rounds of competition to earn her fourth place finish for the meet. This height pushed her well past her previous best of 1.72m (5' 7.75") and has helped her secure her number one position in the ASUN for women's high jump by nearly three inches over her closest competitor.
