Richardson, Jackson Earn ASUN Track & Field Weekly Awards After Outdoor Opening Weekend

ATLANTA, Ga. – Lipscomb's track and field programs kicked off their outdoor season on Friday and their results earned two Bisons the first weekly awards of the season. Sophomore Anna Richardson was named the ASUN Women's Field Athlete of the Week while Bella Jackson took the Women's Freshman of the Week title.

Richardson was selected to a group of Lipscomb women's track and field athletes sent to compete in the heptathlon at the High Point Bob Davidson Invitational over the weekend. Richardson took first place in the event with 4752 points.

This score ranks as the second highest heptathlon score in program history, after Richardson's own 5001 point score from the 2021 ASUN Outdoor Championship. Her score of 4752 points puts her at first in the ASUN for the heptathlon.

She achieved this score with a time of 14.76 in the 100m hurdles (4th in the ASUN), a height of 1.63m in high jump (4th in the ASUN), a distance of 10.18m in shot put (11th in the ASUN), a time of 26.03 in the 200m dash (13th in the ASUN), a distance of 5.16m in the long jump (7th in the ASUN), a throw of 28.69 in the javelin (12th in the ASUN), and a time of 2:28.18 in the 800m run (18th in the ASUN).

Jackson was also one of the four Bison women selected to compete in the heptathlon at the High Point Bob Davidson Invitational over the weekend. She earned third in the heptathlon to cement Lipscomb's sweep of the event with a total of 4510 points, good for third in the ASUN for the heptathlon.

Jackson earned her finish with a time of 14.84 in the 100m hurdles (5th in the ASUN), a height of 1.72m in the high jump (1st in the ASUN), a distance of 7.96m in the shot put (14th in the ASUN), a time of 25.76 in the 200m dash (6th in the ASUN), a distance of 5.32m in the long jump (6th in the ASUN), a throw of 18.89m in the javelin (20th in the ASUN), and a time of 2:32.52 in the 800m run (21st in the ASUN).

This honor marks Jackson's fourth Freshman of the Week title this season and her first for the outdoor season.
