ATLANTA, Ga. – The defending ASUN Regular Season and Tournament winners, Lipscomb Men's Soccer, was tabbed as the favorite in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
The Bisons also swept the three superlative honors and landed six players on the preseason All-Conference team.
Junior
Tyrese Spicer was tabbed the Preseason Player of the Year while senior
Noah Gulden was unanimously voted the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and senior
Michael Sibley was named the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.

Luca Naumann also earned spots on the Preseason All-Conference Team.
Spicer, a Trincity, Trinidad & Tobago native was named the Preseason Player of the Year and to the All-Conference team after racking up accolades last season. He was named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team, a 2021 ASUN First Team All-Conference member and the ASUN Championship Co-MVP. The forward finished the season ranked second in the league in goals (8), and first in both assists (7) and points (23). He finished the 2021 regular season leading the Bisons with six goals and three assists and was named the ASUN Championship Co-MVP, scoring two goals and dishing three assists during Lipscomb's Championship run.
Noah Gulden was named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year for the third-consecutive season and earned a spot on the Preseason All-Conference Team. One of the most decorated Bisons in program history, Gulden had another phenomenal season in 2021 earning Defensive Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team, United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-Region, United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American, ASUN Scholar Athlete of the Year and ASUN All-Academic Team honors. The Drammen, Norway native led Lipscomb with seven assists last season, including on four of the Bisons' game-winning goals. He was a two-time 2021 Defensive Player of the Week and started every match and played nearly every minute in the 2021 season.
Sibley was named the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year for the first time and earned a spot on the Preseason All-Conference Team after a breakout 2021 season where he started in all 18 matches. The senior picked up an ASUN leading 12 wins on the season and was top of the ASUN with 59 saves. The London, England native finished the season with a .702 save percentage, a mark that was ranked third in the conference, and was second in the ASUN with a 1.33 goals-against average. Sibley notched four shutouts, and only allowed one goal in the ASUN Tournament to earn him a spot on the 2021 All-Tournament Team.
Senior
Scott Gulden was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team after an impressive 2021 season earned him United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team, ASUN All-Conference First Team and ASUN All-Academic Team nods. He finished the 2021 regular season second on the Lipscomb squad with four goals and top-10 in the ASUN in the category at the end of the regular season before being sidelined due to injury. He played over 1,300 minutes and played and started in every regular season match. The Drammen, Norway native helped anchor a defense that posted three shutouts on the season.
Wood proved to be one of the best forwards in the conference last season and earned 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team and ASUN All-Conference Second Team honors and was named the 2021 ASUN Championship Co-MVP. He led Lipscomb and the ASUN with nine goals and dished out four assists. He finished the season second in the ASUN with 22 points and second in the league with 38 shots. The Chattanooga, Tennessee native scored two goals and notched two assists during the 2021 ASUN Championship to help the Bisons to its third ASUN Championship title. He continued to produce during the NCAA Tournament, scoring the Bisons' opening goal in the First Round against Hofstra.
Naumann rounded out Lipscomb's Preseason All-Conference Team members. The Berlin, Germany native was a member of the 2021 ASUN All-Conference Second Team. A workhorse in the midfield, Naumann played in all 18 matches and played over 1500 minutes. He collected five points with a goal and three assists last season including scoring a crucial game-winner last season in the regular season against FGCU to keep the Bisons in the hunt for the Regular Season title.
Lipscomb will start its season Saturday, August 13 with an exhibition match against Louisville at 6 p.m. CT. The regular season will open at Lipscomb Soccer Complex Thursday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. against Purdue Fort Wayne.
