SCORING SUMMARY
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons were on the attack from the first whistle. On the kickoff,
Malachi Jones nearly opened the scoring with a shot that went off the post and into the keeper's hands.
After a chaotic start, Lipscomb scored in the 8' minute when Wood knocked in a header off great service on a free kick from
Alejandro Lopez.
Lipscomb had another good chance in the 12' minute when Dallmann headed a ball that forced a big save from the Jacksonville keeper. Lipscomb continued to attack when
Louis Robinson rocketed a shot from 20-yards out that forced yet another save.
The second goal of the match came in the 17' minute when Jones earned a PK after being taken down in the box. Dallmann took the PK and the strike was saved, but he followed the rebound and knocked the ball in for a 2-0 lead.
Shortly after, Jones drew another PK when he was cleated inside the box, resulting in a red card for Jacksonville. The resulting penalty clanged off the post, keeping the score at a pair for the Purple and Gold.
In the 20' minute, Dallmann forced a turnover on a Dolphins' back pass and played a ball out wide to a streaking Jones who put a shot over the keeper, who was charging off his line, into the upper left corner for a 3-0 score.
The Bisons went down to 10-men in the 22' minute when a red card was issued to
Adam McAleenan.
The final minutes of the first half continued with Lipscomb being the aggressor, but the score remained 3-0 at the halftime whistle.
Lipscomb continued to pepper the Dolphins' goal in the second half. In the 68' minute,
Nick Dang nearly got the fourth goal with a header on a set piece that went just wide of the far post.
The fourth goal of the night came in the 72' minute when Lopez found Robinson on the wing. He played a left-footed cross across the face of goal and Alonefti was waiting at the far post to hammer a right-footed shot home.
Jones nearly got his second of the night in the 86' minute when he dribbled through a host of defenders and got a shot off that ricocheted off the crossbar.
Lipscomb was able to hold onto the clean sheet, defeating Jacksonville 4-0 to open ASUN play.
