Men’s Tennis Completes Belmont Fall Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb men's tennis completed their first weekend of fall competition at the Belmont Fall Invitational over Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18. The Bisons picked up five doubles wins and three singles wins over three days of competition.

In the Belmont versus Lipscomb/Vanderbilt match, Maksim Bogdanovich and Alex Mesquida earned a 2-6 victory while Luka Stojanovic and Jake Penny earned their own 6-4 win. In singles play Bogdanovich earned his first singles victory of the year in a two-set sweep (6-0, 6-3) while Mesquida and Penny fell in two to their own foes.

During the Tennessee Tech versus Vanderbilt/Lipscomb match, Stojanovic and Penny picked up their second win of the tournament in a dominating 6-1 triumph. Bogdanovich and Mesquida fell to their own foes in a close 7-5 battle.

Singles play saw Bogdanovich notch a second two-set win (6-4, 7-5) while Stojanovic picked up his first singles win of the season at 8-7 (7-5).

In the Bisons' final day of competition, both doubles pairs emerged victorious against their opponents – Bogdanovich and Mesquida went 6-2 while Stojanovic and Penny claimed their third win 6-4.

Bogdanovich claimed his third singles victory of the weekend in two sets (6-0, 6-3) over Belmont's Jack Randall.

The Bisons will travel to Louisville, Ky. to compete in the Ohio Valley section of the ITA Regional Championships over Thursday, October 13 to Monday, October 17.
