ATLANTA, Ga. – The Lipscomb men's and women's track & field programs continued their outdoor season this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational. The Bisons posted two individual event wins, nine top-10 finishes, and set numerous new personal bests as the team prepared for ASUN Championships in a few weeks.
Senior
Franziska Decker and sophomore
Bella Jackson paced the Bisons at the invitational by winning both the women's javelin throw (39.09m) and the women's high jump (1.75m) respectively. Junior
Raelee Moore also finished 4th in the javelin throw (32.71m), while senior
Allie Scott, juniors
Mollie Longmire and
Maddie Moody all posted top-10 finishes in the women's triple jump (8th - 11.60m), in the women's 5,000m run (6th – 17:04.59), and in the women's 5,000m run (9th – 17:20.55).
Sophomore
Ben Butcher paced the Lipscomb men's team by finishing seventh in the men's 5,000m run (14:39.00), while sophomore
Bing Hudson and freshman
Brady Yingst crossed 9th (3:52.31) and 10th (3:52.52) in the men's 1,500m run respectively.
UP NEXT:
The Bisons will return to Nashville on Friday, April 28 as they compete in the two-day Music City Challenge, hosted by Vanderbilt, in the team's final tune-up before ASUN Outdoor Championships start on May 11.
