NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Bisons track & field teams closed out their final tune-up before the ASUN Championship by competing in the Music City Challenge this weekend, hosted by Vanderbilt. Lipscomb tallied three broken program records, three individual event victories, and 21 total top-5 finishes en route to a successful weekend.
Aislinn McElhaney,
Kiara Carter, and the 4x100m relay team of
Kennedy Miller,
Makayla Watson,
Jaden Mathews, and
Abigail Alvarado all broke outdoor program records to lead the Bisons' women's team this weekend. McElhaney broke the program record in the 400m dash (55.65), while also winning the long jump competition (6.12m).
Carter broke the outdoor program record in the 800m run (2:04.51). The team of Miller, Watson, Mathews, and Alvarado ran a time of 47.05 in the 4x100m relay to also break an outdoor program record.
Colbi Borland also won the 3,000m run (9:11.84).
Bella Jackson and
Allie Scott led Lipscomb in the field events by finishing 2nd in the high jump (1.76m) and 3rd in the triple jump (11.64m) respectively.
Ellie Brewer,
Mackenzie Barnett, and
Mollie Longmire each crossed 4th in the 1,500m run (4:27.31), 3,000m run (9:26.64), and the 3,000m steeplechase (10:51.58) respectively.
Scott McKenzie paced the Bisons' men's program by winning the 3,000m run (8:10.20), while
Levi Streeval and
Brady Yingst, along with
Brady Johnson, crossed 2nd in the 800m run (1:50.45), 3rd in the 3,000m steeplechase (8:58.76), and 3rd in the 800m run (1:51.42) respectively.
Bing Hudson,
Ben Butcher,
Austin Remick, and
Bill Comstock all posted fourth-place finishes in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:06.00), 3,000m run (8:29.38), 1,500m run (3:48.07), and 800m run (1:51.42) respectively.

The Bisons will have a week off before they travel to Jacksonville on Thursday, May 11 to open up the three-day ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
