Men’s Tennis Sees Three to College Sports Communicators 2023 Academic All-District Team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb men's tennis placed three on the 2023 Academic All-District Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators. Carlos Salas Tulla, Vikash Singh, and Luka Stojanovic all earned places on the team with their stellar work both on and off the court.
 
"I am very proud of our team and each of our student athletes for their academic performances," said head coach Ben Roeser. "They have clearly demonstrated the importance of academics for Lipscomb men's tennis and lead by example in the classroom."
 
Carlos Salas Tulla posted a 3.72 cumulative GPA towards his Bachelor of IT degree while competing in all 21 of Lipscomb's matches this season. Salas Tulla earned a 15-23 overall record in his time on the courts.
 
The Sant Pere de Ribes, Spain local tied for first on the team in singles wins with a final 10-9 singles record, highlighted by wins over opponents from IUPUI (2/18), Richmond (3/9), and Northern Kentucky (3/11). Salas Tulla recorded a 5-14 doubles record with partners Jake Penny and Luka Stojanovic.
 
Vikash Singh earned a 3.59 cumulative GPA towards his MBA while competing in all 21 of the Bisons' matches this season. Singh ended the season with a 17-20 overall record on the year.
 
The Kolkata, India product tied for the most singles wins on the team with a 10-11 singles record primarily at the No. 4 position. He recorded singles wins over opponents from Dayton (2/17) and IUPUI (2/18) to highlight his first season as a Bison.
 
Singh collected a 7-9 doubles record with partners Alex Mesquida, Jake Penny, and Henrique Ushizima. He primarily teamed up with Ushizima and the duo ended the season with a 6-7 record, including wins over pairs from Belmont (1/29), IUPUI (2/18), and Northern Illinois (3/4).
 
Luka Stojanovic put up a 3.71 cumulative GPA towards his Bachelor of Software Engineering degree while competing in 19 of Lipscomb's matches. Stojanovic completed the season with a 9-23 overall record including a 5-11 mark in singles play.
 
The Paracin, Serbia native earned singles wins over opponents from IUPUI (2/18), EKU (3/12), Stetson (3/30), and Alamaba A&M (4/10). Stojanovic compiled a 4-12 doubles record this season with partners Carlos Salas Tulla and Maksim Bogdanovich, including a 3-4 mark with primary partner Bogdanovich.
