Men’s Tennis Sees Seven Named ITA Scholar Athletes, Squad Earns ITA All-Academic Team Selection

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Lipscomb men's tennis team delivered a strong 2022-23 campaign under the first full season of direction from head coach Ben Roeser and the squad continues to pull in post-season recognition. The Bisons saw all seven of their number named ITA Scholar Athletes as well as earning an ITA All-Academic Team title as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Monday morning.

"I am so proud of every member of the team for getting it done in the classroom," said coach Roeser. "These awards are proof of the hard work our student athletes put in every day."

The ITA recognized 959 Division I men's tennis student athletes for their academic performance while 162 men's tennis programs were given All-Academic Team honors.

Over the 2022-23 season, the Bisons put up strong academic performances to earn a 3.69 team GPA for the year, handily crossing the ITA's qualifying 3.2 team GPA threshold.

For the individual awards, six members of the squad secured GPAs over the 3.5 GPA individual award threshold. Three Bisons earned GPAs above a 3.7 while competing this season for the Purple and Gold – Luka Stojanovic (3.74), Maksim Bogdanovich (3.89), and Vikash Singh (4.0). The trio is joined on the list by Alex Mesquida, Jake Penny, and Carlos Salas Tulla.
