The first goal of the season didn't take long as the Bisons struck first in the 5' minute. After winning a 50/50 ball in the midfield, the ball was played to Tyrese Spicer who made a crafty run down the left flank and put a cross to the penalty spot where Luca Naumann calmly put the ball into the corner of the net with his right foot.

After winning a free kick from an FAU offsides call, keeper Juan Carlos Rodriguez took a free kick that found the feet of Spicer in the midfield. Spicer expertly trapped the ball with his back to goal and turned and charged toward frame. Holding off a pair of defenders, Spicer slotted a right-footed ball past the charging keeper to the back of the net for a 2-0 Lipscomb advantage.

In the 26' minute, Lipscomb threatened again when Wyland Worley went down the right side and found Malachi Jones who took a shot from range that went just over the crossbar.

FAU got on the board in the 31' minute to cut the Lipscomb lead 2-1 with a header that found the back of the net.

The Bisons nearly got on the board just before the half with a corner kick in the 42' minute that Nick Dang rose and got a head to, but the shot banged off the woodwork.

In the 45' minute, FAU was awarded a penalty after a 50/50 challenge in the box. The shot was converted for a 2-2 score at the half.

On its first attack of the second half, FAU put a ball in the back of the net for a 3-2 lead. The Owls scored another in the 50' minute for a 4-2 advantage.

In the 51' minute, the Bisons responded when Naumann played a ball to Malachi Jones who flew past his defender and put the ball in the far corner to cut the lead 4-3.

Jones got Lipscomb level in the 57' minute with his second goal of the night when Ploutarchos Alonefti found Jones on the right side and he slotted the ball past the keeper.

The Owls were given a second penalty kick in the 59' minute that it converted for a 5-4 lead. Another goal from FAU came in the 62' minute for a 6-4 advantage which was ultimately the final score.
