Bisons Tally Three ASUN Track & Field Weekly Awards

ATLANTA, Ga. – Lipscomb's Track & Field programs saw an impressive weekend at the Vanderbilt Invitational over the weekend and three Bisons have earned ASUN Track & Field Weekly Awards for their efforts as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Aislinn McElhaney earned the ASUN Women's Field Athlete of the Week title while Braedon Palmer and Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng earned the ASUN Men's Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week titles respectively.

Representing the women's team, McElhaney earned her second ASUN Field Athlete of the Week title of the season after claiming two top-three finishes this weekend. She began the meet with a first-place finish in the long jump invite with her 6.40m (21' 0") jump, setting a new personal best, a new program record, and ranking her first in the ASUN and tying her for eighth in the nation in the event. McElhaney then went on the help one of the squad's women's 4x400m relay teams set another program record with their conference-leading time of 3:47.67.

On the men's side, Braedon Palmer earned the ASUN Men's Track Athlete of the Week title after he brought home another of the squad's five first places finishes from the weekend when he claimed first place in the men's 3,000m with a personal best and program-record-setting 8:06.84 in the event. His time ranks him fourth in the ASUN and 53^rd in the nation for the men's 3,000m run.

Newcomer Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng earned the nod for the ASUN Men's Freshman of the Week title after earning the Bisons two top-10 finishes over the weekend. He first claimed third place in the men's 400m dash with a personal best and conference-leading 48.05 in the event before helping one of the squad's two men's 4x400m relay teams to claim seventh place with a 3:17.78.
