Track and Field Turns in Big Performances Over Two-Meet Weekend on the West Coast

AZUSA, Calif. – Lipscomb track & field traveled out to the West Coast over the weekend to take part in Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational and Long Beach State's Pacific Coast Invitational. The Bisons delivered a slate of strong appearances in their California meets as the regular season heats up.
 
The Bisons brought home two first place finishes, two program records, and a slate of personal bests across the two meets.
 
Bella Jackson and Aislinn McElhaney put up two big performances each representing the women's field team. The duo claimed first place finishes in the women's high jump for Jackson (1.74m) and the women's long jump for McElhaney (6.49m) at the Bryan Clay Invitational before claiming third place (1.79m) and second place (6.37m) in the same events at the Pacific Coast Invitational.
 
The men's squad showed off throughout their lineup as James Schmidt added a podium appearance to the Bisons' tally with a personal best 47.05 in the men's 1,500m while Braeden Ofosu-Kwarteng added another top-10 finish for Lipscomb with an eighth-place finish in the men's 400m dash with his personal best time of 47.05.
 
Both squads earned program records in the 5,000m over the weekend as Colbi Borland clocked a 15:44.74 for the women and Braedon Palmer clocked a 13:46.15 for the men, both finishing sixth in the event.
 
UP NEXT
The Bisons will next head down to Atlanta, Ga. for the Georgia Tech Invitational over Friday, Apr. 19th-Saturday, Apr. 20th.
