Men's Soccer Defeats Bellarmine, Earns Second-Consecutive Shutout

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first real action of the match came in the 9' minute when Bellarmine earned a free kick from 25 yards out. A Bellarmine defender took the free kick and put the ball to the bottom corner of the net, but Lipscomb's Juan Carlos Rodriguez was there to make the save.
Lipscomb had a chance in the 18' minute when Keegan Yorke squared for a shot just outside the top of the box which forced a Bellarmine save. The Bisons threatened once again in the 37' minute when Javanne Smith and Dan Karsten rocketed consecutive shots for a block and a save, respectively.
Though Lipscomb dominated possession and chances throughout the first frame, the match was scoreless at the break.
After the half, Lipscomb dominated for the first several minutes, but had little to show for it.
Lipscomb continued to battle and finally broke through in the 77' minute when Smith linked up with Tyler Stinnett in the midfield who dribbled into open space and rocketed a long-range shot that found the inside of the near post for a 1-0 lead.
Shortly after, the Bisons doubled its lead with a goal in the 78' minute. Karsten put a great ball in from the left side and Smith tapped it home at the far post for a 2-0 lead.
The Bisons managed the final minutes of the game well to see out the 2-0 victory, marking its second-consecutive shutout and fourth-consecutive result.
