Lipscomb Softball Announces 2026 Signing Class

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lipscomb Softball head coach Kristin Ryman announced the signing of five talented student-athletes to the program's 2026 recruiting class, a group that brings power, versatility, and championship experience from across the country.

The class features Maggy Abernathy (Calhoun, Ga.), Kylie Black (Jasper, Tenn.), Abbi Million (Lebanon, Ky.), Neabella Perez (Whittier, Calif.), and Addy Rizzatto (Romeoville, Ill.), all of whom are set to make an immediate impact for the Bisons on and off the field.

Coach Ryman on the 2026 class: "We are so excited about this class! We have a little bit of everything in this group with power, speed, and all position groups represented. This is a group of hard workers who have played at a very high level. They have all won a lot at each level, and we look forward to what they will each bring to our program. In addition to their talents on the field, they are also great students who come from supportive families, and they will all fit into our program well. We can't wait to get started with them!"

Meet the Signees

Maggy Abernathy | OF | Calhoun, Ga. | Calhoun High School
A dynamic offensive threat, Abernathy has been a dominant force throughout her prep career. A four-time All-Region and All-District selection and three-time All-State honoree, she has also been named MVP three times. Abernathy has maintained a batting average over .500 all four years, totaling 17 home runs, 52 stolen bases, 172 hits, and an impressive .601 on-base percentage.

Coach Ryman on Abernathy: "Maggy is a quick, confident lefty who is a triple threat in the box. She will impact the top of our order with her tools at the plate, and she will be tough to defend. She is also a speedy outfielder who is a go-getter and doesn't shy away from the big moments. Maggy has a poise about her that will help her succeed early in her career, and she possesses a resiliency & confidence that can continue to elevate our team. She is an incredible fit for this class and our program, and we can't wait to get her to Nashville!"

Kylie Black | LHP | Jasper, Tenn. | Chattanooga Christian School
Black brings elite experience and command to the Bisons' pitching staff. A three-time All-State selection and the reigning DII-AA Pitcher of the Year, she helped lead her team to the 2025 DII-AA State Championship. Black also holds her school's career record for strikeouts, fanning 263 batters during her standout sophomore season.

Coach Ryman on Black: "Kylie will impact our program right away with her abilities in the circle. She will give our staff a different look as a tall lefty with the ability to change speeds well. She's a very steady and consistent arm who is level-headed and mature. We believe Kylie has a very high ceiling and attacks the zone well. In addition, she is the type of player that teams rally around because of her demeanor on the field and her love for her team. We are so excited to welcome her to the Herd!"

Abbi Million | C/IF | Lebanon, Ky. | Marion County High School
Million adds leadership and consistency behind the plate and at the plate. A Softball America Top 25 Catcher (Class of 2026), she is a three-time All-Region and All-District selection, as well as a member of the Midwest First Team. Praised for her power and reliability, she holds a .537 batting average and a .999 fielding percentage. Million also shines in the classroom as a KHSAA Academic All-State First Team member with a 4.0 GPA.

Coach Ryman on Million: "Abbi is an elite catcher with a high softball IQ. She is athletic and takes a lot of pride in both her defense and in the way she builds relationships with her pitchers. She is super competitive, but also a light-hearted motivator who will push others to be better. She will also bring a solid bat who can impact the middle of our order. Overall, Abbi is hungry to win and get better and her upside is tremendous. We can't wait for her to be in purple and gold!"

Neabella Perez | IF/OF | Whittier, Calif. | Whittier Christian High School
Perez brings strength and versatility to the Bisons' lineup, having hit five home runs in a single season. Her ability to contribute both in the infield and outfield will add depth and flexibility to Lipscomb's roster. Perez's favorite high school memory was playing in Bull Head City and hitting a 3 run home run to tie the game and a sac fly to put her team up one in the championship game.

Coach Ryman on Perez: "Bella can play nearly every position on the field, and that versatility will make her extremely valuable for us right away. Her athleticism and ability to adapt and grow as a player make us very excited about her future. As a true utility player who can hit for average and power, she will also be able to compete up & down the order. Bella is very coachable and a great teammate. Her love for her teams comes out in the way she plays, and she approaches the game and her relationships very intentionally. We are excited for the impact Bella is going to make at Lippy!"

Addy Rizzatto | IF | Romeoville, Ill. | Joliet Catholic Academy
A proven competitor with championship experience, Rizzatto is a three-time All-State selection, two-time captain, and two-time team MVP. She earned Top Gun titles in 2025 (Kansas City) and 2023 (Runner-Up), along with the Queen of the Hill Championship (2025). Rizzatto recorded a .481 batting average as a sophomore and is known for her clutch performances, including a three-run home run and game-winning sacrifice fly in a championship game.

Coach Ryman on Rizzatto: "Addy is a model of consistency. She is a solid, steady infielder who will bring a very even-keeled approach to the field. She is a lockdown defender, but she also has a strong presence in the box to be able to impact any part of the order. Addy plays with a high IQ, and she rarely gets too high or too low. She has been a player that her teams have grown to rely on because of her abilities and steady approach, and we are pumped that she is a Bison!"

Looking Ahead

The 2026 class marks another strong addition to a Lipscomb program that continues to build on its championship tradition within the ASUN Conference. With a blend of speed, power, and leadership, this group is poised to elevate the Bisons' success for years to come.
