NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University baseball team was unable to pick up Brycen Parrish, who threw a complete game shutout for the University of North Alabama, as the Bisons dropped a 1-0 decision to the Lions, Friday from Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium.

Final Score: North Alabama 1, Lipscomb 0

HOW IT HAPPENED
A Bryant Loving solo home run with two outs in the second inning, held up for the Lions as the lone run of the game.

From there, Cole O'Brien settled in, retiring four straight after the long ball, and despite an infield hit to put runners on first and second with one out, he induced a 6-4-3 double play to get out of a fourth inning jam.

Unfortunately for the bats, the Bisons went 11-up, 11-down before Parks Bouck induced a two-out walk in the fourth, he was immediately tagged out on a force play on the next at bat.

After stranding a runner at first in the fifth, Brycen Parrish faced the minimum the rest of the way, including retiring the final nine batters he faced. For the game, he faced two over the minimum to secure the complete game shutout.

The Bisons saw 21 of their 27 outs in play, 10 in the air and 11 on the ground.

KEY STATISTICS
Despite the one mistake, Cole O'Brien (1-2) pitched a quality start, going six ininngs, allowing one earned run on six hits with five strikeouts. Jake Lynch followed with five punchouts in three innings of relief.
